Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are one of the oldest pro football teams in the National Football League. They were originally based in Ohio in Portsmouth and were called the Portsmouth Spartans. They were started as an independent pro football team in 1929 and were one of many of the same type of team in the Scioto River and Ohio valleys.
